Alqayam (Al) Meghji

Al is a currently policy advisor for the government. He started his career as an engineering consultant working for companies in the UK water sector where he held engineering, managerial, and strategic roles. After qualifying as a chartered engineer, he moved into the public policy sector and has gained experience in sustainable finance, international development, trade, agriculture, and environmental policy.

Al is passionate about public service and improving opportunities for people and communities. He is on the committee of the Scottish Squash and Rackets Club in Glasgow and is the governor of a school in London. 

As a trustee for East Park, Al hopes to support the organisation to grow sustainably and be a beacon of excellence for the provision of additional support needs education across Scotland.

When not working, Al can usually be found in the highlands or on a squash court.
